The original barn doors were 12 feet high and 12 feet wide.
I was asked to construct new ones and lower the height to 9 feet.
The original transom window also had to be lowered to match the doors.
New jambs were installed so everything would be plumb and level after which the doors were built
using 8" V match Tounge and Groove which were screwed together,
not nailed, to give them more strength and durability.Spring loaded latches at the top help keep the doors closed or to have only one open at a time. All Dutch barn doors arrive assembled in two individual lumber panels which have been prepared with aluminum trim on four sides. These stall doors mount flush into the barn door opening and the hinges/latch attach directly to your exterior barn stall walls.

Stay rollers are designed to keep sliding doors from moving from side to side when pressure is applied to the face of the door. Our new concealed stay roller is mounted under the door and rides in a channel that is cut into the bottom of the door. This product is ideal for pocket doors, residential and commercial applications. When larger doors are required, other sizes are available.This barn door has been painted to match the white exterior of the owners barn. No positive color has been added to emphasize the Crossbuck fascia. As you can see in the picture, hinges and latches are mounted directly to the outside door opening. The door opening has been framed with 2x6 stained lumber.
